New Luvsurf TV: LOST “ORCA” Koji Nishii Koji Nishii
Luvsurf TV: LOST 『ORCA』Koji Nishii Koji Nishii Rider: Koji Nishii Board used: LOST 5'7" ORCA POLYESTER FILM & EDIT:TOKU-TOTAL VIDEO SERVICE This is a riding video of the Orca, a Japan-only model developed and designed specifically for the crowded small waves of Shonan. On the first run, the board started sliding smoothly with a light paddle, and then it easily went up and down on the small, sloping waves, making carving turns. On the second run, I was paddling on a funboard behind the peak, and even though the waves were not rideable, I paddled sideways and took off smoothly, making one move on the backside. On the third one, we took off and the top of the board ran up into the thick, soupy waves. The fourth one is a backside roller coaster, which is wide but works well. You can see that the takeoff is so quick that the fifth one starts sliding sideways before even standing up. Even when riding on soup, it doesn't sink, so you can ride long distances without losing speed. The sixth shot was a backside top speed shot followed by three consecutive top actions while spraying. He rode up to the person on the funboard who was riding far away and almost collided with him. In the seventh run, Long, who is riding forward, can only slide straight, but even in the same small waves, the Orca's board moves and he is able to ride well. For the last eighth slide, he starts sliding on the board with just a light paddle that involves rotating his arms three times. You definitely can't get this much initial speed on a normal board, so you can avoid getting caught in the thick soup of the waves and finish on a light roller coaster ride through the sections. Take a look at the extremely fast takeoff performance, where the board slides sideways before taking off even in small waves with little power. Learn moreJulian came in 3rd at the QS NY PRO on his Mayhem board!
Julian Wilson came in third on a Mayhem board at the QS NY PRO. In the main event, Corey Lopez, Asher Nolan, and This is Brett Simpson from HB. Julian Wilson was also riding the Mayhem shape. After all, the boards that world-class surfers choose for competitions are MAYHEM shapes. Thinking how amazing it was, Nishii was enthusiastic about cheering on the team as he watched the WEB-LIVE every night. Here are highlights from rounds 3-5. Did you notice Kelly had a 5 fin set up? Nishii also loves the movement of the 5 fins, The effect was confirmed at a beach break in New York, which has similar wave conditions to those in Japan. Although it was a quad, Kelly was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the move, which looked like a try. When the waves get thicker in the middle, it's easy to connect sections without losing speed, I like the loose feel that keeps the slide down when you lip it. (Kelly's fins look like Aurora Smallish's ...) This is LOST.TV - NEW YORK TRIALS AND EXPRESSION SESSION Gorkin beat Julian, who came in third, to win the Express Session. LOST TV is also available, so please enjoy that as well. You can also see the sharp riding of Placebo's Asher Nolan, who won the trials! It's a big city, so there are a lot of galleries. The waves were just right and the event was a great success.

Labor Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday in California. It was a day of rain, stop, sunshine, and clouds, with the wind direction constantly changing. This is an upper trestle wave. It's a good wave. These are the waves at LOWERS. There is more wind than usual, but the waves are still good. Nishii is using a Presebo 5'9" SCORCHER with AUROLA 4.7 fins. Learn moreNishii is riding a 5'6" SUB-DRIVER with AUROLA 4.5 fins!
Today's waves at San Clemente Lowers. Although the size has gone down, the waves are still big enough. Apparently the big south swell that occurred yesterday was the biggest in 10 years. It was a holiday, so there were waves and lots of surfers on the road to UPPERS. When I got to the beach in LOWERS, there were several photographers there. There were many professional surfers in the ocean. Among them was Richie Collins, who had come to surf with his daughter. (Only people who have been surfing for about 30 years will understand this...) Nishii surfed on a 5'6" SUB-DRIVER with AUROLA 4.5 fins. Since the waves still had some size, the larger AUROLA 4.7 fins seemed to be a better choice. It looks like the waves will still be big enough tomorrow. Gorkin surfing in New Jersey wearing an ANCHOR wetsuit. LOST TV has been newly released, so please take a look. The wave quality is similar to that of Kujukuri, so this video is good for image training and examples.
Learn moreThe wave was 5'10" and not long enough for FI-STUB.
This is the board with the original Mayhem mark on it, stored on the ceiling of the Mayhem family's garage. The LOST brand had not yet been launched, so the boards did not have the LOST logo on them. There is an illustration of the sun and breaking waves under the MAYHEM logo. I went to LOWERS to surf with Mayhem. The waves were quite large and there was a strong current due to the wind blowing from the side. Nishii brought the longest board he has stored in the US, a 5'10" FI-STUB model. The waves were too short for a 5'10" surfer. As expected, at this size, it was clear that people using long gun-type boards were surfing with ease. You'll need a board that's 3-6 inches longer than normal for days like this. Recently, Mayhem has been training with his personal surf trainer and is in great shape. He was surfing comfortably on a 6'8" semi-gun with a round pintail and five fins.

Apparently it's the same board he used to come in third (interference) at the recent Sooruz Lacanau Pro in France. The board that Luke Davis was riding was It's a 5'8" x 18 1/2" x 2 1/8" SubScorcher model. Mayhem, who was watching the live show, saw their board work and The position and attachment of the VEE, as well as the rocker curve of the tail, will be finely adjusted to suit each rider. What's great about Mayhem is that they can see how the board matches the rider and how it functions. You can understand this by watching a few turns. We are also willing to quickly improve the design and supply better boards. He tests the boards himself, but his talented team riders are also active in the competition scene. They can maneuver to the limit and do things that other riders can't do, Mayhem's board designs always aim to be the best, and are cutting-edge board designs that are ahead of the rest on a global level.
