Sunny transforms into a smiling face with RNF.
Today the waves finally settled down. This is the Lower Trestle at about 8am. Maybe it was because of the cold wind or the cold water temperature, but for some reason no one was surfing. Mayhem came back from snowboarding yesterday and seemed busy after the ASR show. Mayhem wasn't there yesterday, so everyone bombarded me with questions. It finally warmed up in the afternoon, so we headed up to the upper reaches to surf. Sunny was found. I was taking pictures. It's been a while since we last saw Sunny, so we took a commemorative photo. This is that wave. The rider is Sunny Garcia. It's out of focus, but take a look. After that, Sunny was surfing at his friend AVISO RNF, who had come with him. This board seemed to be in better condition than my own, and he had been surfing with a scary look on his face just a moment ago. I was smiling and riding the AVISO RNF. RNF is a board that even makes Sunny smile. This is a space reserved for locals. Visitors are not permitted to use this facility. This is also a local.

San Clemente is a storm. The wind is blowing hard again today. Here's what the Lower section looked like at 8am. It was huge. So today I went to Lost House. This is the entrance. This is a warehouse that I have been familiar with for over 10 years. Apparently I have to move house soon. I found three Todd Marcomb QUAD guns. It's a QUAD, but it comes with matching colors on the fins. Carbon Flex is an epoxy board made by wrapping rails in carbon. These were rider testers. Names like Ward, Mason and Shea were on the list. The magic board that Shane had finished using and was about to break. Apparently it was shipped from Hawaii without any packaging. There's an airline tag sticker on it for checked luggage. Here's a video showing the inside of the Lost House, which will be closing soon. At the laminate factory, we were asked by sander Joe Wood to carry out a quality inspection, so we checked the finished boards for oversanding, air bubbles, pinholes, etc. The Nemo airbrush works great on round nose boards! While driving around town, we spotted a huge advertisement for Cory riding a Flexlite! This is Salt Creek around 4pm. The wind has shifted from south to north, but since it's on the strong wind side, there's still no surf. Will I be able to surf tomorrow?

No surfing today due to wind and rain. This is a wave at Lower Trestle. I went up a size, but it's in junk condition. It's a no surf day, so I'm meeting Mayhem. A new AVISO objet surfboard has been placed on the stairs leading to the second floor of the Mayhem house. Introducing Mayhem's latest personal board. This is ROCKET. It is 5'11" long. This is MONK FISH. Length is 6'0". The Monk imported to Japan also has this same mark. There are also types that can accommodate single wings. 5'10". The narrow nose 08' round nose fish can be used when the waves are good, Apparently the previous type is more suitable for Japanese waves. The 08' round nose fishtail can be fitted with a single wing. The signature names on all of these boards are, Mayhem was shaped by me, so it's a sign that says FOR ME!

ROCKET is doing great! It's fast, light, and extremely easy to handle! It's in great condition! Nishii has been riding it exclusively lately. A new contest season has begun and it looks like a 5-star WQS event is taking place in Sebastian Inlet, Florida. Schoenbeschen is currently in Florida with his wife Sophia to attend the event and a friend's wedding. There was also a surf brand exhibition going on at the time, and Shane was busy promoting his models DEAL and ROCKET at the Lost booth. For the contest, we are using DEAL, which I introduced in my blog yesterday. Gorkin, a Florida native, says he really likes ROCKET. They're being watched! The two of them waiting for a wave! This is Shane's son, Noah Beschen (7 years old). He's already good at this age. I'm looking forward to his future.
