Nishii arrived in San Clemente.

Nishii arrived in San Clemente. If your flight is delayed or you are on your way from LAX to San Clemente, We made detours to a camera shop and a food market, and by the time we arrived in San Clemente, the sun was starting to set. So, I hurried off to surf at Trestle. When I checked the lower section, it was extremely crowded with WCT athletes. There are some great waves breaking, breaking left and right just like in the picture. The size has increased steadily from yesterday to today. It seems that there will be waves during next week's WCT as well. Even here in San Clemente, there are people who drive high-performance and durable Presebo bikes. It's increasing every year. I did some light surfing on the upper section. The waves were nice and smooth. When the sun goes down, the colors become so beautiful, it's very California-like. Tomorrow I have an exhibition in San Diego.

The research of the world's leading top shapers never stops.

As one of the world's leading top shapers, Mayhem's research never stops. Mayhem is also reportedly testing out some new material. According to Mayhem, this suspicious blue-colored surfboard is It's called Hydroflex It's apparently made in Germany. There are many indecipherable numbers and letters written on it. There is also something written on the tail. The blue foam is bead-like like EPS, and epoxy resin fills the gaps between the beads. It has excellent strength, a hard and strong surface, and just the right amount of flexibility. Since there is no stringer, it follows the outline of the rail. Four lines are carved into the deck and two into the bottom. It also has a parabolic structure. Like the previous material called COIL, it is compressed by a machine and epoxy is applied. Apparently it's glass laminated, so it can be completed without sanding. Of course, I'll be testing it from now on.

I took a close-up of the air vent hole in the XTR.

I took a close-up of the air vent hole in the XTR. This air vent hole allows air to escape when the board gets too hot. Its role is to release gas generated from the foam to the outside. The deck has two rows of rails and two rows of rails in the center. The bottom has numerous holes along both rails. XTR foam is the only blank that does not absorb water, so You can drill holes. The board almost never absorbs water and becomes heavy while using it. It's a long-life board that can be used for an amazingly long period of time. If you haven't tried the XTR yet, be sure to give it a try! Regarding the XTR, Nishii's personal board COMP-4 model XTR PB specification has arrived. The size of the White Rail XTR Parabolic is 5'9" x 18.25" x 2.13" (175 x 46.3 x 5.4 cm). I ordered it at 5'10" long, but it came out at 5'9". Mayhem is a global trend in surfboard sizes. They said they shortened the length and adjusted the dimensions to make it wider. The thickness of the standard board is usually 5.1 or 5.25cm. This time, 5.4cm is thicker than usual. As for the thickness, I decided to make it thicker because paddling has become difficult since I turned 40. The fins are standard QUAD, but I would also like to try TRI. 5 fin/FCS-FUSION plug. I'm looking forward to riding it!

FLOW released! 5 minute talk with Matt Biolos

The latest FLOW magazine has been released. (Bruce is on the cover) It includes an interview that Yuki conducted with Mayhem when they visited Japan recently. The contents are like this. 5 minutes talk with matt biolos Five Minutes with Lost Shaper Matt Biolos Photo by snowy / Text by yuki Matt Biolos, aka Mayhem, is the shaper and leader of Lost, the American dream that has spread from San Clemente to the world. Lost is known in the American industry as a somewhat controversial brand, but its leader, Matt, is actually far from being controversial; he's actually a very intelligent and clever person. People don't study much these days. If there's something they don't understand, they can solve it with a Google search. They don't need dictionaries or books or anything. They don't need to memorize things. But he's the kind of person who can point out the distortions in the world today and say, "That's strange, isn't it?" I believe the success of Lost is due to Matt's intelligence and his ability to calmly analyze the market. When asked about the secret to growing from a small, small-group brand into such a huge brand, Matt replied: "First of all, satisfying the average user. Not the pros or team riders. Pros and riders are like tools to satisfy the average user, like files and rulers. We take their feedback and create boards that will satisfy the average user even more. Lost's advertising strategy may be silly, but the boards' performance is outstanding. You can tell they're the real deal when you ride them. That's one thing we stick to." Even as he spoke, he continued shaping the blanks in front of him. It takes about 45 minutes to shape one board, and he shapes 10 a day. He draws the Swallow tail end line freehand, and even though it's a small detail, he uses an electric file in one go. His boldness is so great it almost makes you worry. Watching the boards being made so effortlessly while we were talking, it's easy to believe he can see things the average person can't. Whatever the process, the finished boards have beautiful curves. It's easy. It's like a third-grade craft project. I've been doing it forever. I used to get really nervous about it when I was younger, but now, it's not like that anymore. The shaper signs it, writes the size, and finally writes "Made in Japan." When I asked, "Eh, Made in Japan?" Matt proudly replied, "Yes, it's not made in China. It's proof that it's a custom board that I shaped in Japan." His current goal is to create a shortboard for surfers in their 30s and 40s who don't want to ride a longboard. A board that makes it easy to catch waves even with a weak paddle. This is sure to satisfy the average surfer. Lost is actively working on new concepts and materials such as Fiberflex and Parabolic Stringers, and starting next year, Firewire Lost surfboards will finally be available. Before that, the second DVD of previously released performances on short fish-style boards is scheduled to be released. Kelly will also be appearing on a 5'6" board. I'd like to see Corey Lopez and Chris Ward take to the pipe or Teahupoo on boards in the 5' range. Tomorrow is my day off, so I'm going to Tokyo. I've already decided to have shabu-shabu for lunch and yakiniku for dinner. I'd also like to check out the girls in Harajuku and do some shopping, Matt said, laughing happily as he continued to move his hands. We are currently distributing FLOW in-store, so please come to Love Surf to get your copy.

New riding video released! 5FIN SHARK model!

New riding video released! 5FIN SHARK model. Koji Nishii: Board used: LOST 5'8" XTR Parabolic DD 5FIN SHARK The movie's release page is here. http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/movie/lost_movie.html This is a riding video of a LOST 5-fin SHARK model XTR Parabolic Stringer. This riding video shows how by making the most of the unique flexibility of the XTR Parabolic Stranger, bending your body at the bottom, weighting the board, and then heading to the top, you can make driving turns more easily than with a polyester board. XTR PB is a cutting-edge structure that uses two radial wooden parabolic stringers with XTR characteristics. The stringers are highly compatible with XTR foam, creating a lively flex that makes the board bend as if it were alive. The XTR's unique speed flex flexes supplely and then returns to its original shape with great response, instantly raising your riding speed to the limit. The more weight you put on it, the further forward you extend your turn. With the XTR PB, you can easily gain speed with the same weight as always. The fins used in these videos of Pro Nishii riding are the AULORA "5.1 + 4.2 QUAD set" with the AUROLA "TINER FIN" attached in the center, which reduces the looseness of the QUAD fins and makes it easier to perform top action. We encourage you to try this 5-fin setup. Here is the board description for this model: http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/board/lost_model.html#shark4 Here are some impressions of this model: http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/board/24_impression.html#shark4 Ready-to-ride stocks for this model are available here! http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/board/lost_stock.html#shark4 The 5FIN SHARK is equipped with a super convertible 5-fin/FCS plug that can be used with not only the standard quad, but also thrusters, twin stabilizers, and even 5 fins for big waves that require drive.Depending on the fin settings, it is a board with an excellent design that can be used in more all-around situations than any other board. How about you all? The 5FIN SHARK XTR Parabolic Stringer is great!
