First win in his first JPSA appearance! "Kei Kobayashi" 2016 1st Round MURASAKI PRO
(Photo by Nic Nakamura) As we had previously announced, Kei Kobayashi will be competing in the JPSA for the first time as an amateur in early April. He made it through the trial round and won after 11 heats! He also achieved the required 12 points in the middle rounds and earned his JPSA pro qualification on his first tournament. (Photo by Nic Nakamura) Love Surf customers and industry insiders who had watched the JPSA live broadcast were sending me emails and messages saying things like, "It looks like Kay will win!" from a fairly early stage. (Photo by Nic Nakamura) It's definitely worth cheering on athletes who are on the same LOST board. (Photo by Nic Nakamura) Nishii also watched the JPSA live because his favorite surfer, Kei, was there for the first time in a while. However, the judges' scoring system was different to that of the WSL, and they seemed to place more emphasis on the difficulty and speed of the moves, so when I thought he should get 9 points, he got 7 points, and the scores didn't go up, so I was feeling a bit nervous watching. However, in the final, he won with a landslide victory, even for an amateur to see. (Photo by Nic Nakamura) Kei's energy to win was amazing, (Photo by Nic Nakamura) He was riding a LOST board that was better than anyone else's, so he got the best results! (Photo by Nic Nakamura) In the world of competitions, you can't win unless you have a good board. Kei, who is now the current leader of the JPSA, will travel to Mentawai after the final to compete in the QS1000 RIP CURL PRO from April 21st to 24th, and then return to Bali Keramas to compete in the WQS 1000 KOMUNE BALI PRO from May 3rd to 7th. This JPSA tournament saw him compete in 11 heats, making it a good practice tournament for the KOMUNE BALI PRO. (Photo by KENYU) Congratulations Kay! I'm sure Japanese surf media will be publishing photos and videos of this achievement in the future, so I'm looking forward to it! So, everyone! We will also be holding a "Kei Kobayashi" victory sale! Please look forward to this as well!

New model information! Latest video of Kei riding the LOST V2-GRINDER! Luvsurf TV:LOST 『V2-GRINDER』Kei Kobayashi Rider: Kei Kobayashi Board used: LOST 『V2-GRINDER』POLYESTER FILM: Koji Nishii EDIT: TABRIGADE FILM This board is a tuned-up version of the V2-SB by MAYHEM to be able to ride in smaller waves. Below is a description of the board released by MAYHEM. Short and wide... super fast. The V2-Grinder is a V2-SB that's been expanded to be rounder and thicker. I first made it for some local friends of mine who said, "I used to be a good surfer, almost at a professional level, but then I grew up, got a job, had kids, and now I surf easy beach breaks with my kids whenever I get the chance." We received rave reviews from our old local heroes and were so happy that we offered it to some WCT and QS competitors to ride. The result is a board that's a contest machine in very small waves, and with Carissa Moore and other world-class surfers getting great results on it in less than stellar conditions, we decided to include it in our lineup. It combines the V2's signature low entry and pronounced tail lift with a classic Sub Scorcher-like outline. The wide tail block provides drive, lift, and a stable platform in flat conditions. The short rail line and ample tail lift (combined with the generous rail) still keeps it in the water and allows for small, tight, quick turns, even in shorebreaks. There's nothing to be afraid of with a short, thick board. What do you think? It makes me want to try riding the waves in Japan! If you're familiar with LOST, it's best to imagine it as a SUB model. Short and wide! Choose your board size. Stock boards will be arriving in the following sizes from mid to late August. LOST『V2-GRAINDER』TRI fin/ FCSII POLYESTER Carbon Tail Patch ¥145,000 excluding tax 5'7"x 18.88"x 2.25" 25.65cl 5'8"x 19.00"x 2.32" 27.00cl 5'9"x 19.25"x 2.32" 27.80cl 5'10"x 19.50"x 2.38" 29.40cl The first arrival always gets a lot of reservations, If you want to ride, please make your reservation early! A rare opportunity to meet the world-renowned top shaver "MAYHEM" Don't miss this opportunity! -------------------------------------- Kolohe carving while free surfing on the morning of the final day of the Hurley Pro. The Hurley wetsuit that Kolohe is wearing is made in Japan and custom-made by Sanko (BE WET). On the final day, the spectators gathered as much as they did at the US Open. The waves at the Hurley Pro today were smaller than expected, and many competitors were eliminated due to being unable to catch waves in some heats. There were more waves yesterday than there were during the final, and the waves on Monday, when the event was canceled, were twice as big. One of the players who was highly anticipated was Wiggory Dundas, who was eliminated in the quarterfinals. This is Carissa Moore's father. I brought a spare board and cheered on the team on the beach. They look similar~ You can see the model mark on Carissa Moore's board as she emerges from the water with a happy smile after winning the competition. This is Mayhem's masterpiece "SUB-DRIVER." Congratulations Carissa! Learn moreCheck out the photos of Nishii riding the 5'10" "BIG RIG DRIVER" POLY stockboard.
These photos were taken last week when Nishii was on a trip to Indonesia. The waves were barreling at a followable right break called GT Point. It's hard to ride such hollow waves in Japan, so I was so excited to experience barrel wave conditions for the first time in a while that I ended up surfing for six hours that day. The kids were light and quick to take off, so they were hitting barrels one after another. Nishii, 59, is slow-moving, so he struggled to take off at first, but after a few rides he got used to the waves. "BIG RIG DRIVER" High buoyancy helps you to stand up quickly from the easy paddle. The performance was great for an older guy like me, and I was able to hit several barrels without any pearling. After all, the "BIG RIG DRIVER" can run on small, weak waves in Japan, It's reliable because it takes off quickly even in the deep waves of India. As a board that uncle takes on overseas trips, I recommend it because it's a long ride. Because it's long, you won't be scared even if the waves get bigger! https://youtu.be/oksxW81dmwc
Learn moreEveryone! Thank you for coming to our store and purchasing so many brand new LOST "BIG RIG DRIVER" LIGHT SPEED2!
Mr. A, LOST's "BIG RIG DRIVER" LIGHT SPEED2 was chosen. He had been considering POLY's "BIG RIG DRIVER" as a board to ride when the waves are small at his home spot, but when he heard that the new version, LIGHT SPEED, was going to be released, he was eagerly awaiting its release. Although only a small quantity was available, he was able to get his desired 5'10" size, and looked very happy throughout the ride, looking forward to going to the ocean. Mr. B, He chose LOST's "BIG RIG DRIVER" LIGHT SPEED 2. He purchased the BIG RIG DRIVER from POLY shortly after it was released, and was so impressed with it that he purchased another one in the same 6'4" size. After that, LIGHT SPEED2 technology was announced, and he wanted to try that out as well. When he was considering which model to try, he chose the same third BIG RIG DRIVER with LIGHT SPEED2, as it is his favorite model because it is easy to ride and maneuver. Mr. C said, He chose LOST's "BIG RIG DRIVER" LIGHT SPEED 2. He is a veteran surfer who currently uses the "RNF'96". This time, he placed more emphasis on performance when choosing a model, and decided on the new model "BIG RIG DRIVER" which he can ride without ignoring. He already owns a "LIGHT SPEED" surfboard, so he is looking forward to comparing the new and improved performance of the "LIGHT SPEED2". Mr. D, LOST's "BIG RIG DRIVER" chose LIGHT SPEED2. He's a veteran surfer who currently rides mid-length and retro fishboards depending on the conditions. He came to Love Surf to check out the 2025 hottest performance model, the "BIG RIG DRIVER." After watching Nishii's YouTube video, he decided he wanted to ride a thruster surfboard again. After discussing various options, he decided to go down one size from his original POLYESTER and upgrade to the "LIGHT SPEED2," which is ultra-lightweight, responsive to the rider's input, and highly maneuverable. Mr. E, LOST's "BIG RIG DRIVER" chose LIGHT SPEED2. He recently purchased a LOST "BIG RIG DRIVER" made of POLYESTER, made in Japan quality, and it was working really well. He then found out that a new "BIG RIG DRIVER" made of LOST's original EPS material, "LIGHT SPEED2," had been released, and couldn't resist coming to Love Surf to see it in person. We explained to him how it's much lighter than POLYESTER and has better performance, and he decided to buy a second one in a different size. Everyone! Thank you for visiting our store! Thank you for purchasing the new LOST "BIG RIG DRIVER" LIGHT SPEED2!
