Lost Surfboards team rider Vahiti Mahana won the women's under-18 division at the ISA World Junior Surfing Contest in El Salvador. She is a goofy-footer from Hawaii and is a promising team rider who is listed by MAYHEM as a potential member of the upcoming World Tour team. In this contest in El Salvador, the contest took place on two break points, one on the right and one on the left, and surfers with the ability to surf both the frontside and backside with a good balance advanced to the finals. However, she never had to go to a retake heat (loser's bracket) and instead advanced to victory in the main event heat.
