"Reckless Isolation" is finally out! Everyone can watch and enjoy!
"Reckless isolation" Starring Kolohe Andino, Ian Crane, Luke Davis, Griffin and Crosby Colapinto A record of a month-long surf trip to Mentawai, Indonesia, in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. After a hugely successful multi-coast film tour, Reckless Isolation has finally been released by Red Bull TV. Now everyone can see and enjoy it. The brainchild of Kolohe Andino, who directed, produced, and edited the film with Jacob Vanderwerk, "Reckless Isolation" follows five San Clemente surfers (Kolohe, Ian Crane, Luke Davis, Griffin and Crosby Colapinto) on a journey around the Mentawai Islands over the course of a month in mid-2020. Early in the pandemic, Indonesia closed its borders to tourists, leaving the Mentawai Islands almost completely empty of surfers. Using local connections and considerable underhanded tactics, Kolohe and his crew were able to enter Indonesia, secure a charter boat, hire former Pat Lensmen Scotty Hammons and Nate Lawrence, and navigate the Mentawai, Indonesia's Disneyland of surfing, during peak season. The result was a cutting-edge, postmodern mix of "September Sessions" and "...Lost at Sea." Highlights include: Griffin's impossible tube at 1:00 PM; the slab section at 11:00 PM; Kolohe's broadcast denunciation at 3:00 PM; and the greenbush section at 3:30 PM.
