Check out the photos from the session just taken at Kei Kobayashi's home point, LOWERS.

I caught a virus during the JPSA contest in Shonan, Japan last month.

The illness developed while he was surfing in Bali and was diagnosed at a hospital there.

Apparently there were days when he couldn't surf for about three days.

Then back to California,

I wasn't feeling well and couldn't surf for 10 days.

Now that I've recovered, I went for a photo session at my home point, LOWERS.

There were a lot of good waves on the backside that day.

He decided to take such aggressive action.

Kei Kobayashi is currently considering entering the Chiba Kita/Shidashita tournament for the final JPSA tournament in Japan. He has an important PRO-JR tournament in Barbados coming up soon, so he will wait until the very last moment to decide.

Kei Kobayashi himself has not yet recovered 100%.
He said his surfing wasn't going well.
Looking at these photos, that's enough surfing!
The board he's riding is, of course,
the "V2-GRINDER" !
