Placebo "ORCA" Soft Top & Hard Bottom
The Mayhem-designed LOST ORCA model is a small-wave board designed for extreme conditions, but the shaped center stringer EPS foam has been glassed with epoxy resin and sanded like a regular board. A special bamboo sheet made from processed bamboo is then applied to the deck to increase the strength of the deck surface, and a 5mm thick ORCA EVA skin is then applied on top of that.
Currently, the market outside of surf shops is flooded with sponge boards aimed at recreational surfers that sell more on color design than performance, but the Placebo ORCA is significantly different in structure and performance.

This board has very high-end construction and performance among boards in the category called softboards, which includes sponge boards.
It contains an EPS epoxy surfboard, made by gluing a shaped center stringer EPS foam with 6 oz. cloth in epoxy resin and sanding it down. Therefore, the bottom is the same hard epoxy resin bottom as a regular board, so you can surf it just like a regular board. It doesn't have the same problems as regular sponge or soft boards, where you can't make lively turns or you can't make long turns because of the lack of rebound.

If you're riding finless at the beach, you can easily remove the fins!
The soft deck surface is made of a 5mm thick "ORCA" EVA skin, which is made from a material called EVA.
When wet with seawater, the grip becomes more moist than when dry.
No wax is required and the shoes are non-slip, even with bare feet or boots. (Sorry, FU-san.)
