This Costa Rican surfer competed in Round 3, Heat 4. He placed second with a total of 11.53 points, advancing to Round 4. He is a big surfer with a powerful body and is riding a DRIVER performance model board.

The heat ended with no sign of the good form I had the day before. Today, I struggled because most of the waves I was riding didn't have a strong shoulder. I was able to make one turn, but I only had short rides that didn't last, so I ended up in 4th place.

There were many former WT riders competing in this tournament, and I was one of them. I had a lot of wipeouts at the finish. Even if I rode well and made three turns, if I wiped out at the finish, I couldn't increase my points, and I ended up in third place in Round 3 and was eliminated.
"Alex Ribeiro" BRAZIL
Today, I surfed Round 3 again on the CARBON WRAP "DRIVER" model. I landed air reverses and created huge spray on the lip, and even among the many Brazilian competitors in this tournament, I was able to advance to Round 3 with surfing that was worthy of a former World Tour surfer. The wave size is expected to remain the same or get slightly smaller until the final, so I think I'll be riding this CARBON WRAP "DRIVER" model.
"Ian Crane" USA
He used the rail to rail well on this wave, and in round 3 he landed the highest air reverse with the tail coming up high, winning by a landslide. The board he was riding was a "BABY BUGGY." He was highly praised by the gallery, media and photographers in attendance, making him a favorite to win!
