Do you remember Drew Brophy, the original LOST artist?
Last Sunday, I met up with everyone for the first time in a while, and I asked, "Do you remember Drew Brophy, the original artist of LOST? He was the original artist who used Posca pens to draw art on surfboards." On the boards of the KIDs who participated in the "RIP CURL Grom Search" contest Apparently he drew 15 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. I also had "Nate Iyomans" painted on my board! The latest LOST Carbon Wrap board is also made with his LOST classic art. It turned out to be such a cool board! "Drew" went surfing in between painting. Your board has some amazing art on it! All photos by Mike Van Mierlo The trial heats begin today, April 10th, at the JPSA opening round to be held in Keramas, Bali. Kei Kobayashi, who competed in the JPSA for the first time in 2016, won the trials and took the championship, is also entered this year. "Kei Kobayashi" is the defending champion, I flew from California to Bali about a week ago to make arrangements. This time, Kei's older brother, Sho Kobayashi, was also accompanying him, making it his first time competing in JPSA! This will be Sho's first time competing, so just like Kei last year, he will start from the trial heat. Round 1 is Heat 5. According to JPSA rules, it would still be AM... The forecast is that the size of the waves will continue to increase, I'm looking forward to seeing the results as Sho and Kei really show their true worth the bigger the waves get.
