I rode the 6'4" SMOOTH OPERATOR 39cl for two rounds! MAYHEM was nagging me to hurry up and get on, so I took a test ride on the 6'4" "SMOOTH OPERATOR" 39cl. I went for two rounds at a beach break in Chiba with small waves, and at a beach break with a rough terrain that breaks, loses its soup and turns back into a swell. This board was developed and completed by Mayhem himself, who teaches surfing to his four children at San Onofe and Dana Point in California, where the waves are soft and gently sloping, and where many long boarders and beginners, including older men and women, practice surfing. Mayhem was frustrated that his usual board was no longer able to catch waves, so he shaped a large number of boards, adjusted the design, and tested them repeatedly, so that he could enjoy surfing while teaching his children how to surf. MAYHEM had never designed a shape for a mid-length board like this "SMOOTH OPERATOR" before, so as far as Nishii knows, they spent about two years gradually adjusting the design. This spring, LOST released the first mid-length board, but Nishii hadn't ridden it yet, so he kept telling me to hurry up and ride the MAYHEM, which is in good condition, so I rode it for two rounds yesterday in Chiba. I actually wanted to ride a 6'2" size, but the test board was a large 6'4", but the size didn't bother me and I was able to move it easily and with no trouble! As expected from MAYHEM! Even though it's 6'4", the center width is kept narrow, so it's very maneuverable! That's my impression. And because it's long and thin, the paddle is fast! Fast! Imagine a race car that competes for speed on the water. Boards, canoes, SUPs, windsurfing, etc. are all long and thin! And with its unstoppable speed-maintaining ability to ride the waves to the very end, I was able to experience riding more waves than I've ever experienced before, even in conditions where the waves broke, the soup disappeared, and the waves returned to swell! The speed of the paddle and ability to ride continuously even in rough waves with the "SMOOTH OPERATOR" are amazing! If you're having trouble with gentle waves on a slope, this is it!!! This is the logo for " RETRO RIPPER-JP " It is based on the single wing, round tail RETRO RIPPER that was released worldwide. Development of " RETRO RIPPER-JP" began with Nishi's request The request was for a board based on the RETRO RIPPER that could be used in small to medium waves in Japan. And instead of a wide squash, I want a little more buoyancy in the tail area. So I tried combining the Double Wing and Super Swallow. The double wing creates a wide, straight outline between the stances that provides excellent acceleration. Then, with the double wing, we narrowed the tail outline and created a narrow swallow tail. The narrow swallow allows for delicate control that the RETRO RIPPER cannot provide, allowing for surfing that doesn't miss the power zone. The control performance in this rear foot area is a perfect match for Japan, and was exactly what Nishi requested. I think this is a really good design It can handle anything from small waves to head-sized waves without any stress. I didn't say it was small wave specific because it's a stringerless EPS carbon wrap. Ultra-lightweight and highly resilient flex for excellent response A narrow tail outline and swallow tail, as well as a slightly wide center and flat deck. Other designs are influenced by the retro series. The 80's style beak nose allows the thickness to be left all the way to the nose. This significantly improves paddling performance and allows for quick takeoff. The gentle rocker and voluminous nose area allow you to gain speed when paddling. The rails and other parts also incorporate ideas from the Retro series. Sharp and extremely sharp rails cut off from a flat deck There is no thick rail feel at all. But this rail has buoyancy Extremely down-concave rails, but the bottom rails are single concave, resulting in a softer round. This single concave lifts the board and adds rocker to the rails. So you can surf the top and bottom of the wave freely and stay in your power zone. It also has a slight double concave between the fins.
