"RNF-EVOLUTION" and other Placebo models and design comparison
Today, let's compare the much talked about "RNF-EVOLUTION" model with a Placebo model that is thought to have a similar design. The bike on the right with the tail grip attached is a 5'11" Lancer Evolution . The one in the middle is the 6'0" "UBER-FISH" model, On the left is a 6'1" Lancer Evolution . Although it has the same swallow-type tail design, you can see that the Lancer Evolution is narrower and smaller than the UBER-FISH model. And here is a comparison with the 5'10" BLACKSHEEP on the left . I placed a 6'1" Lancer Evolution next to it, and it turns out that the tail of the 6'1" Lancer Evolution is smaller and thinner. Next up: On the right is the 6'0" "UBER-FISH" In the middle is a 6'1" Lancer Evolution On the left is 5'10" "BLACKSHEEP" Compare the difference in swallowtail width. Because the tail of the Lancer Evolution is thin, when you step on the tail, it acts as a pivot, digging into the water and acting as a fulcrum to turn the board. This creates the Super Swallow effect. The tail area is thin, so one of the features of the Lancer Evolution is that you don't feel like you're riding a long board. Now let's compare these three outlines. The right 6'0" "UBER-FISH" and the left 5'10" "BLACKSHEEP" have slightly pointed round noses. The middle 6'1" Lancer Evolution has a straight rail line from the center of the board's widest point to the nose. It is connected to the nose and the tip of the nose is the roundest. The center line of the surfboard is straight, so the longer it is the more drive it will have. This time, I placed the 5'10" UBER-FISH on the right . In the middle is a 5'11" Lancer Evolution On the left is 5'10" BLACKSHEEP . The 5'10" UBER-FISH originally has a rounder nose than the 6'0" UBER-FISH. The reason is that the other sizes of the "UBER-FISH", the 5'6" and 5'8" "UBER-FISH" models, All three sizes, including this 5'10" "UBER-FISH," have the same round design. The "UBER-FISH" model is only available in the 6'0" size. This size/model was added two years after the release of the UBER-FISH, so only the 6'0" size has a narrower nose. Of these, the one with the most rounded shape is the 5'11" Lancer Evolution. The round nose is wider and flatter than other models, so it pushes up the waves and takes off faster than other models. The 5'10" UBER-FISH and the 5'11" Lancer Evolution. The 5'11" Lancer Evolution has a thin nose so the tip of the board doesn't feel heavy. The flip nose rocker design at the tip is also a well-designed and functional design that prevents the nose from feeling heavy. The length and surface area of the Lancer Evolution board make paddling and take-off speeds quick and easy. When riding, make sure your back foot is firmly planted on the deck grip and turn at the top, and the board will produce a large line and a big spray. The Lancer Evolution is a board designed for adults to ride on lines. The first shipment is scheduled for late March to early April, and we are now accepting pre-orders! Shonan gets super crowded, so we're looking for weekend surfers to try this out! We've just received a limited edition tint resin board, the one and only in the world! The ORCA model is a model that allows for easy and fast takeoff in small waves, and is made by mixing colors into the resin and glass laminating it in a two-tone white and purple! When MAYHEM went to Europe, their sense was recognized, and they were invited by MAYHEM to come to San Clemente from France for a limited time. The two surfboard glass craftsmen known as Lucky Bastards are Paul on the right and Traistian on the left. We have just received one of the 60 bottles they glassed for a limited time at the MAYHEM glass factory in San Clemente. The model is the ORCA, a Japan-exclusive model, making it a rare and valuable board with double limited editions. I heard that this board was being glassed, so I took some photos the last time I went to San Clemente, so please take a look. This is the order form for this board. Paul mixed the purple color himself. Here, the white color, which will glass before the purple, is being mixed with resin. ■■■ LOST Surfboard "50% Off Sale" Now On! Special sale! We still have great models and sizes available! Since the event began, many customers have visited our store and we have received many orders on our web store. There are still plenty of great models and sizes to choose from! Nishii's recommended model is the "SCORCHER." The SCORCHER is a high-performance model with a standard outline, tri-fin and squash tail, but when compared to the F1-STUB model, which looks the same at first glance in photos, it has more buoyancy than the F1-STUB model, and its slightly more buoyant design makes it suitable for those who find the F1-STUB model too thin. The nose and tail are slightly wider and the thickness is distributed throughout the board, allowing for quicker paddling and takeoff than the F1-STUB model. Please take a look at the special page here, which features many example riding techniques that will help you imagine riding the SCORCHER. This is a masterpiece from MAYHEM that was first released by Lost and later by Presto. Learn morePlacebo's "FISHQUEST 2" board design with photo explanation.
First, take a look at the real thing! "FISHQUEST 2" is now on display in stores in all three sizes! Every day, several customers come to Love Surf and make reservations, wanting to see the board in person first. Thank you! People who have seen "FISHQUEST 2" have praised the board, saying they are looking forward to riding it, as the design conveys a feeling of riding well. The original model for the "FISHQUEST 2" being released by Placebo this time is the LOST/FISHQUEST. It has been available for several years as a second board for small waves for users of the LOST/CONQUEST model, which is a shaped board made from LOST's POLY and XTR materials and is the original model for the Placebo/TABLET model. The LOST/FISHQUEST is so popular that even when stock boards arrive, they sell out immediately and are always out of stock. What kind of person is the FISHQUEST 2 designed for as a small wave second board? *The second board for small waves for TABELT users is called "FISHQUEST 2". For more information on LOST/FISHQUEST, please click here. http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/camp/fishquest.html We've received calls and emails from people far away asking, "I live in XX, where can I go to see the actual board?" However, since the first shipment of the retail version of the FQ2 hasn't arrived yet, there are no stores that carry the actual board. For those people, we've posted photos that will convey the board design in as much detail as possible. The rails of the FISHQUEST 2 are shaped like this. They are slightly rounded, but not perfectly round. They are soft round rails that are just the right amount of thick. (This is the thickest center part of the 5'8" board.) The "TURBO Carbon" built into the center of the bottom board not only looks very cool, but also serves a functional purpose by extending turns when going up and down. Look at the shape of the gap between the board and the stainless steel level. The middle part is attached to the board, but the left and right parts are separated. This shows the angled shape of the VEE bottom design at the tail end. Take a look at the bottom shape around the front cup of the FCS plug for the quad back fin. This area is not a vee but a double concave. From here towards the tail end, the vee shape smoothly changes into a double concave. This is the bottom shape around the front cup of the FCS plug for the front fin. This is the deepest part of the bottom concave, and the FISHQUEST 2 has a much deeper double concave than other models. The "Elevator Wing" is an original design that became famous through the QUEST series and has been copied by many famous brands both in Japan and abroad. Models equipped with this EVW include the Conquest & Tablet, Ripquest, Powerquest, Speedquest, and Airquest, which are sold exclusively in Japan. As the name suggests, this stepped elevator wing moves up and down, and when you start to turn, the tip of the wing catches the water surface and becomes the pivot point for the turn. It plays an important role in creating an opening for the turn, as if the tail of a thick board were riding on a board with a thin tail. The QUEST series, which is equipped with the original "elevator wing," is already familiar to everyone and is sold exclusively in Japan, and is reliable thanks to its MAYHEM shape design. While I was writing this blog, I remembered that MAYHEM had sent me a photo of the master plug board for "FISHQUEST 2," so I'm posting it here for you to take a look. This photo makes it easier to see the shape of the Babeld edge. The lines on the inside of the left and right rails of the bottom are the most protruding part, and they slope slightly outwards from there. This slope makes rail work quicker and easier than it was on the FISHQUEST, which has a thicker overall board, making the rails thicker. Especially in small waves, it helps the rider react quickly to breaking waves and move the board as they wish, making the entire board easier to lean, just like a high-performance board with thin rails. This "babeled edge" slope on the bottom is the biggest change in the performance update from the FISHQUEST to the 2. * Dolphin Grab *Babeld Edge "FISHQUEST 2" is the version that adds these two functional designs. Also, the single to double concave on the bottom is deeper in the 2, the vertical length of the VEE is longer, and the VEE has evolved into a design with more inclination. Please see the photos of the board on this page. http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/camp/placebo_fishquest2.html The first shipment is scheduled for late March to early April, and we are now accepting pre-orders! http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/contact/contact.php To make a reservation, please call us or use this inquiry form. Of course, we are also happy to consult with you before making a reservation if you are unsure about sizes. Please feel free to contact Nishii.
Learn moreThere will be no additional LOST "Discount Sale Board" boards in the future.
Starting today on the 18th, We would like to explain the special sale on LOST surfboards. The reason we are holding this special sale is the impact of last year's earthquake. Learn moreI really want to drive a Lancer Evolution FLEXLITE-TURBO.
All Photos by KAJI The Lancer Evolution's FLEXLITE-TURBO is amazing! The display board for the exhibition arrived, so I really wanted to try it out, but I knew the waves were small and not good today. I went surfing so please take a look. My size is 5'11". (The waves look great in the photo, but look at the shape of the waves. They are weak waves that are just barely surfable.) The length of the board and the large water contact area make it easy to start off from the swells. It can take off and run even in boggy waves that don't break. The side shore swells were twisted and would normally cause the board to get stuck and stop. It easily runs through the slippery and unpleasant sections, If you push the narrow tail firmly, You can easily make big carving turns. Even from such a flat section, Towards the soup connection coming from the front, It's easy to climb up! You can ride like an adult, with ease and no need to move the board around too much. The RNF-EVO can easily take off quickly and pick up speed in one turn. By fully applying weight like this, you can draw large lines even with small waves. It can gain speed even in mushy waves, so as you can see, it allows for comfortable and quick turns. The RNF-EVO offers unprecedented takeoff speed and Anyone can now experience riding waves that they were previously unable to make all the way to the inside. This is how it looks, even with such a thick section! This means that even if the board is long, as long as it can go fast, it can rip even thick waves. This is an RNF board for adults that allows you to surf with big movements and big lines. I even tried nose riding, which I would never normally do, and I was able to do it. The reason why the RNF-EVO has a fast takeoff is MAYHEM, who designed this board, has visited Japan more than 15 times. We are able to design these because we know the type of waves that Japanese surfers surf. Please try out MAYHEM Design, which specializes in reliable Japan-exclusive models. Unlike heavy POLY boards, The board itself is made of lightweight FLEXLITE-TURBO material, allowing for nimble control without making you feel the board's size. The longer the RNF-EVO is, As MAYHEM and Chris Ward say, it is recommended to ride with FLEXLITE-TURBO material rather than POLY. The wave information for this surfing point today is: Size/Knee to thigh SET Wind: Slightly strong, side-on Face/B Condition/▽20 The surface is rough, and the hair is thick and loose from the middle, or rather, it is thick and wide from the inside. Even if you choose the right wave, you can still slide sideways a little. However, if you have the RNF-EVO, Size/Knee to thigh SET Wind: Slightly strong, side-on Face/B Condition: ○50 The face is rough, and the middle is loose and thick, or the inside is thick and wide. However, you can consistently ride long distances from the outside to the inside. It's fun to be the only one who looks like this↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ . The RNF-EVO is the perfect board for those who want to experience faster takeoffs and longer rides than ever before. This photo shows Jiro, who was in the ocean, having swapped out his board and enjoying it. Regarding the UV-cut "SILVER METALLIC" color used on the board, We repeatedly tested the temperature under the sun to prevent the wax from melting, and adjusted the density of the silver. Other than the UV-cut "WHITE" color of other models, this "SILVER METALLIC" color is the one that blocks the most heat. I just tallied up the reservations we received from you all, We are currently receiving a lot of pre-orders for the 5'11" size, and the first shipment of the 5'11" size is almost sold out. If you are considering reserving the 5'11", please act quickly. After the Interstyle exhibition on the 14th to 16th, It will be on display at Love Surf from Friday, February 17th, so if you would like to see it in person, please feel free to come by. Of course, we have all three sizes on display: 5'11", 6'1", and 6'3".
