How was everyone's last surfing experience? I went to Chiba for my last surfing of 2021! The waves in Chiba on New Year's Eve were small, so it was difficult to choose a spot. The point where I entered the water was a small set of thigh to hip tama waves, about belly high, and although there were a lot of waves, most of them were quite difficult to surf on a loose shortboard with no power and no shoulder pull at all. Despite the conditions, I wanted to take my last wave on the RAD RIPPER at LIGHT SPEED, which was still in great shape, so I went in. Even the RAD RIPPER was able to catch a lot of waves, but since the conditions were such that there was no shoulder, all I could do was take off and run a little... So, I switched to the SHONAN WARRIOR, which I had rented in anticipation of this being my last surfing experience in these conditions, and headed back out into the water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI61zaABLs4&list=TLGG_g144CLVftkwMTAxMjAyMg The SHONAN WARRIOR is a model created by MAYHEM after seeing the crowded Shonan beach break in Japan, even in small conditions with no power! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq8InaCoMt4 There were a lot of waves on the day, so we had to dolphin a lot and it was a bit difficult, but in the end it was the right decision to change to "SHONAN WARRIOR"! The thick and wide "SHONAN WARRIOR" catches waves even when the waves are not powerful. You can ride the waves in the same position as on a longboard! But what really surprised me was what happened after we took off! It takes off from positions that would be impossible on a normal shortboard, and goes at high speed without slowing down even on sections without a shoulder that would end up on a normal shortboard, and when the wave comes in on the inside, it moves just like a performance model! I felt a little sorry for the surfers around me, but even though the waves weren't very strong, I was able to catch them and ride them all the way to the inside, so even though the waves weren't great, I caught a lot of waves and was extremely tired and satisfied with my final surfing of 2021! I realized once again that it's really important to choose a surfboard that suits the conditions of the day! In December, there were many days with small waves in Chiba, and I'm sure many people had a hard time. I highly recommend the SHONAN WARRIOR because it will let you have fun surfing even on days when you've given up on regular shortboards and there's no surf!
