Congratulations to Chris Ward for his second place finish at the WQS 5-star event, Volcom Pipe Pro!
At the WQS 5-star event Volcom Pipe Pro held at Banzai Pipeline in Hawaii, Chris Ward advanced to the finals and came in second place! The board he was riding in the final was a LOST/MAYHEM 5'9" QUAD fin board that he borrowed from Schoen Beschen. From the quarterfinals, Chris Ward and Kolohe Andino were in the same heat. Masatoshi Ohno from Japan also competed in the same heat and did very well, making it all the way to the quarter finals. The quarter final results were Kolohe in 1st place and Chris in 2nd place, making for a one-two finish. In the semi-final, Kolohe Andino lost a wave to his senior surfer from San Clemente, Chris Ward, who was also in the same heat, on his last ride, and was overtaken by a margin of error on his last ride, but after careful consideration he came in fifth place. The winner was John John Florence. Second place went to Chris Ward. Here is a digest of the final day. http://www.volcompipepro.com/videos/volcom-pipe-pro-2013-day-3-highlights/index.html Congratulations to Chris for winning second place! He's not the type to wait for a good set, but rather the type to paddle out and take off on any wave he can, and he catches an incredible number of them. Learn moreRepeat customers of "FU WAX" have been buying them one after another, so there are only a few dozen left, so I'm relieved.
Repeat customers of "FU WAX" have been buying them one after another, so there are only a few dozen left, so I'm relieved. FU carefully made this 100% handmade item in Brazil. The second delivery of "FU WAX" has been shipped from Brazil! It is sent all the way from Brazil to Japan. Former World Champion Martin Potter, also known as "POZZ," also uses FU WAX. This is a scam! Try out the grip that the wax claims to provide, just like a foot strap. Until now, when using wax, I had to apply it with a lot of force, creating lots of bumps to prevent slipping, but FU and WAX are different substances that absorb water, so apply them thinly several times and when threads start to appear, it's done. A thin layer of FU WAX is enough to be effective. If you apply it flat, you won't waste too much, so you can use it more times. You can use any brand of base wax, but we recommend applying a thinner coat of hardened wax than usual. (FU Wax base coat is not yet available in Japan.) FU・WAX is highly resistant to dissolution in seawater, so it maintains its grip and adhesive power for a longer period of time than ever before. The next generation Brazilian, following Medina, who qualified for the 2013 ASP-WCT at age 17. "Flipe Toledo" also uses it, World Junior Champion The next generation of surfing by sharp natural footer Kaio Iberi also uses FU Wax! We have added more details about "FU WAX", so please take a look at this link. http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/24sblog/?p=16888
Learn moreThe BEACH BUGGY is a board that can run even on rough, wind-worn waves.
It's Sunday in California and the weather is warm and summer-like. Even in California, the precious "FU・WAX" is still being applied by "HIDEKAZU・SUMA" of the FU・WAX TEAM. Photographer Masuda's specialty is dual-wielding video and photo photography. The set of waves looked like this. There were only a few waves and they weren't big enough for photography. Where to surf for the afternoon round? Checking out the waves at T-Street. Today I went to Oceanside Sandbar because I heard it was good. The size has increased dramatically and we were able to take photos in good waves. The board I rode was the "Beach Buggy." As you can imagine from the model name, This board can handle rough, wind-blown waves. It's designed as a high-performance model for bad waves, not good ones. It's a model suited to the wave conditions in Japan, so it's officially released in February, with stock boards arriving in March, so look forward to it! Tomorrow, Monday, is also a public holiday, so the beach is likely to be crowded and the waves are likely to get bigger.
Learn moreToday I met up with photographer Masuda and we shot on the 5'2" COUCH POTATO.
Today I met up with photographer Masuda and we shot on the 5'2" COUCH POTATO. The waves on T-STREET were small, but they seemed to be slightly bigger than yesterday. The same is true around Trestles. So, it's the same Oceanside Harbor Point as yesterday. Joel Tudor was there too, so it seems my choice of spot was correct. The water temperature has been cold recently, so I've been wearing robes, something I rarely do around here even in the middle of winter. The peak is about this size, but it gets smaller and smaller all the way to the inside. The thick waves of this shallow beach break are very similar to those at Sakuta or Katakai in Japan. A commemorative photo with photographer Masuda. (Photo by Jiro) Today, you'll be amazed at how fast it can take off despite being only 5'2". We had a video taken of the take-off performance and the ability to continue running even in rough waves.
Learn moreI was surprised to find that the FU Wax base coat that Kelly always uses is different.
The waves around San Clemente were too small to break, so we went to Oceanside. Not many Californians surf waves this small, so the ocean was empty and the small waves were perfect for a test ride on the 5'2" COUCH POTATO. I got the FU Wax base coat and tried it out. I hadn't recommended it because it was expensive, but I was surprised to find that the FU Wax base coat that Kelly always uses is different. It's true that FU Wax base coat doesn't melt easily even in warm sunlight. For example, the base coat applied over the black MAYEHM mark of other manufacturers would easily soften and melt in the sun, but the FU Wax base coat remained clearly hard. It seems to be difficult to dissolve in water, so I will continue testing it. In the afternoon, I went to Epoxy PRO, the company that makes XTR in Oceanside. In Habiyar's shaping room, a meeting was held to discuss whether it would be possible to produce boards more quickly, as XTR boards are very popular at Luvurf and the number of custom orders from customers is increasing every year. The popular V-FLEX boards were being completed one after another. This is the FISHQUEST2 model of XTR's high-end "3D CARBOLIC" that everyone dreams of! The EVWING was also being carefully wrapped in carbon Kevlar (black is carbon, navy is Kevlar) to create a beautiful finish. This is a high performance version of the XTR, V-FLEX specification, currently in production. Laminator POTO talks about carbon for testing. There are many stock boards and custom order boards from Japan in the factory. I found a custom order board and told them to prioritize these two items when making them.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are receiving a steady stream of feedback from users who have actually used "FU・WAX"! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please open the store from tomorrow, the 4th. I would like one more FU WAX. I ended up applying it quite thickly. Once you get used to that feeling, it's hard to use any other wax. The rumored wax used by WT athletes. The ride was fun!! ☆FU・WAX☆It's great! It was my first time using it, but just by adding a little wax it has great grip! You only need to apply a smaller amount than regular wax, so it's cost-effective. This is really going well. It feels like boards are glued to my feet! If you look closely at Dane Reynolds' room! And of course, Brett Simpson!! "Julian Wilson" is also an essential part of the contest. If you haven't tried it yet, Try this super sticky, magnetic grip that's unlike any other wax you've used before. /store/11847/ You can purchase it from this web store.
