After surfing at LOWERS this morning, I shot a video of Mick Fanning riding a MAYHEM board. Mick was doing some sharp surfing at F1-STUB. Owen Wright has been coming every day. He is well known for using the POWER BASE fin system, which Luvsurf pioneered. Afterwards, we went to cheer on and photograph Julian Wilson's heat at the NIKE US OPEN. You're watching a surfing contest while sunbathing on the beach. It would be great if we could hold an event like this in Japan. First of all, do we need a pier to attract tourists to the beach? It's already this crowded on a Thursday, so it's sure to be crazy busy over the weekend. Julian got a high score today in RD3 and came in first place. We'll round up to RD5 in one go. I was using the same board today as yesterday. I guess it's in good condition.

He injured his hand while doing an air on an overseas surf trip, broke his board, and was unable to surf for several months, but he chose this sub-driver model to help him get back on track. This time we are introducing an original yakitori machine. The store was open from 14:00 to 19:00, but there was a constant stream of customers coming in. Everyone gets a great deal during the sale, so I'm happy to see that the number of customers participating in the Marine Day Sale is increasing year by year. There was no place to park a bicycle, so it was like standing in front of a station. It got very hot during the day, so we set up three tents in front of the store. The cash registers outside the store are always so congested that there are lines. Nishii will be taking turns grilling the food. There are people who look forward to this event every year, so we will of course hold it again next year!

I went to the LOST Surfboard Factory and handed Mayhem an order form for a new Japanese stockboard. Mayhem has received a large number of orders from WT&QS players, more than usual, for this year's US Open. This shaped board is Julian Wilson's US Open board, The model was, as expected, "F1-STUB." Then, Mayhem's personal board was finished, so we decided to go for a test ride. The board we will be testing is the yellow and blue airbrushed V2-ROCKET, which is located behind the Mayhem. Mayhem setting up his new board at home. This is the Mayhem family's surf skate rack. Just like their surfboards, Mayhem develops, tests and produces their own surfskates. This is the ceiling of the Mayhem family's garage. Mayhem's surfboard collection ranges from very old boards to ones used by recent WT surfers. The waves at LOWES today were small and crowded, and the waves were more intense than in the contest heats. The conditions require considerable skill and paddling power to catch a wave, The boards they used today were: Nishii was a 5'7" V2-ROCKET and Mayhem was a 5'11" V2-ROCKET, Both have some buoyancy, so catching waves was a breeze.
