Ninja surfing at Gokin's small onshore wave beach!
A few weeks ago, it was held in Oceanside, California (a shallow beach break), A video featuring Gorkin from the BUD LIGHT SURF SERIES has been released. It also includes footage of Corey Lopez, who competed in this event. The waves are small and side-onshore beach break, so it's similar to the bad waves in Japan. This over 7 minute video is a model for Japanese surfers. Instead of swinging the nose of your board around in small waves, weight the board and stay in your power zone. He surfs carefully, making sure not to miss any lips or sections where he can get air. Like Gokin, after taking off, calm down, look closely at the waves, and see how the waves will break. Be predictable and try to surf the wave in a position that stays within the wave's power zone. Even with small waves, if you are in the right position you can gain speed and perform tricks. The V2-ROCKET is a model designed for smaller waves, but it has a straighter outline than the ROCKET model and more drive, so it is designed to be able to ride well on the waves that are common in Japan, even if they are a little bigger. The rails are also rounded, giving the board excellent rebound, so the board bounces back with a lip action. This Chris Ward backside lip really brings out the board's characteristics. The invitation-only tournament was held last weekend in Oceanside, California. These are the results of the Bud Light Lime Surf Series. Riders who ride Lost Mayhem include Nate Iyomans and Placebo's "Corey Lopez" is also featured. "Gokkin" came all the way from Florida to participate, I was rooting for "Gokkin" who was wearing Luvsurf's original wetsuit. I didn't win a prize. But, however!! The youngest and most promising LOST surfboard TEAM rider among the invited athletes of this event, "Dilangudail" was the grand winner. Today, I went to Colors' user contest. Medals are awarded to winners in each class. Those who have been watching the wave forecast will know, but it is easier than the overhead waves from the typhoon. The breaks were good and the weather was good, making for gorgeous conditions. Today, we went to Torami Beach in the northern Chiba area. A Placebo test drive event was held at Sands Ichinomiya store. Placebo's main popular model, Tablet RNF-EVOLUTION FISHQUEST2 RIPQUEST POWERQUEST SUB-SCORCHER Six models are available for full-size test drives. Buyers from MURASAKI Sports also attended the event. I test rode each model over and over again to experience the board's performance. The waves were small, but the quality was such that surfing was possible all day long, so visitors were able to try out the boards until the evening. The most popular test drive was, of course, the TABLET! Also, since the RNF-EVO and FQ2 are new models, everyone was trying them out. The next Placebo test drive event will be held at Sands Ichinomiya store in collaboration with Murasaki Sports, and is scheduled for the following date: June 9th (Sat) 7/7 (Sat) July 21st (Sat) 8/4 (Sat) 8/11 (Sat) *Schedule may change depending on wave conditions and weather. In the previous blog, I mentioned Nishii's test board and Mayhem's test board that he brought to the NIKE Prime event venue. Today I test rode a board with a cork deck. I was worried about whether the skis would really slip without wax, but they didn't slip at all and I was able to ride without any problems. The interior of this board is EPS foam. The rails are made of carbon fiber, making them very sturdy. The cork looked wet when it came out of the water, but it dried quickly. The bottom surface is laminated with epoxy resin. I tried riding with AUROLA 4.5 fins as a tri-fin. FUTUTER fins. The leash plug area looks like this and is carefully made for peace of mind. The V2-ROCKET itself was in good condition, The cork on the deck is soft, so the flex of the entire board felt too soft. The internal EPS foam has been changed to a harder quality for a more comfortable ride. I'll try requesting it.
