Kolohe is surfing the waist-high waves, picking up speed as he goes. The flowing lines and quick techniques add an accent to your riding. This is a rare video of riding shot from a high floor. What position on the top of the wave are you aiming for to lip or do tricks? Please take a good look at this as it will serve as an example of the approach line. Even in small waves, you can achieve this kind of lip by pulling your front knee toward your chest. The super slow motion footage taken from this top-side camera angle is also a must-see. Today, I participated in a test drive event hosted by Murasaki Sports at Shonan Chigasaki Park P. I returned to Japan from CALIFORNIA last night, loaded the test board into my car, Focusing on the new 2015 models of LOST and PLACEBO , We have prepared about 50 boards for test rides. I forgot the PLACEBO and LOST flags, We put up a lot of FU WAX flags. A group of tough kids surfers came to the event wanting to try out LOST's "SHORT ROUND" ! He rode both LOST and PLACEBO's "SHORT ROUND." But the 5'8" PLACEBO "TITAN" FLEXLITE-BOOST is the narrowest and has the best range of motion! That's what they say. Masato is also from Chigasaki so he came to help out. PLACEBO's CQ EL-DIABLO was the most popular model, with visitors specifying it as the one they wanted to test drive the most. When I asked, most people said they were driving a TABLETII and wanted to switch. The waves were small and knee-high, so you could barely slide sideways. It was popular during the test drive. The take-off performance of LOST's ``DOS-DIABLO'' and PLACEBO's ``CQ EL-DIABLO'' in small waves was fully demonstrated. Thanks to all the visitors, staff, and other manufacturers who participated! Today's LOWER starts offshore. The size still leaves plenty of overhead. The board I rode was smaller than yesterday, Onshore, to run through the thick section of the waves, LOST "DOS-DIABLO". It's a shortboard with a pointed nose and squash tail. This board is wide, thick, and has buoyancy, so it moves forward without any effort. The design makes surfing much easier than the LOST SUB-BUGGY-JP that I was riding until yesterday. Today I have some good news for you all. You can now choose the color of the FCSII plug. Until now, only FCS team riders have been able to use it. Now it is finally available for everyone to use. This is the "original" color that many people are already using. This is what it looks like before you attach it to the board. Once installed on the board it looks like this: We would like to inform you that there are three additional colors available. These are "Orange," "Blue," and "Yellow." "Orange" and "Yellow" are beautiful neon colors and are recommended. Today's LOWER. It was smaller than yesterday, but the SET was over double. The board I rode was a LOST 5'8" SUB-BUGGY-JP POLYESTER. I changed the two QUAD front fins that I had previously installed from size S to size M KA fins , and the two back fins from size S to size M Perfomer fins , and set the fins up to be more sizing and driveable. Just by changing the four fins, the board becomes firmer and more stable for riding. I was able to make bigger turns and go faster than with smaller fins. If you want to ride a board you are familiar with in larger waves, try using larger fins. Fins are a very important part of surfing. This is a surfboard rack from LOST USA. The racks were filled with boards delivered from each glass shop yesterday, Monday. The staff were very busy inspecting and shipping the products. In the foreground there are also used boards used by team riders and pros. This is the new 2015 release that just arrived! LOST traction and LOST leash cord! When I digitized my surfing records using a GPS surf watch, I got something like this: From the release date of November 11, 2014 to the date of use of April 30, 2015, This data is from approximately six months, or 172 days. *Number of days surfed: 74 *Number of rounds: 85 *Longest ride: 422m (Rincon, California) *Total number of rides: 2022 *Maximum speed 35.6km (Chitose, Chiba Minami) *Distance traveled: 739.8 km (Paddle & Ride) From Tokyo, across Osaka and Kobe, to just before Okayama, or from Tokyo to just before Aomori (surprise) *Time spent surfing: 8 days, 0 hours, 8 minutes (lol) Today the size has increased again from yesterday, I went surfing at LOWER, which is over 10 feet high according to SURFLINE (wave information). If you catch a right wave and a set comes in, you won't be able to get out, so I went up to the beach many times and surfed around the left current. The board I rode was a PLACEBO 5'8" CQ-EL-DIABLO FLEXLITE-CANDY. It's not specifically for big waves and it's short, but I wanted to test out the excellent all-around capabilities of this model. I caught a bigger wave than I expected, and my paddle caught up with the speed of the big wave, so I was able to surf. There was also a grab rail for dolphin-through, which was nice. Yesterday, I was riding the LOST "ROUND UP" model and got hit by the overhead soup many times. My hands were blown away from the rail. Today's dolphin was even bigger, and thanks to the grab rail I couldn't let go of it even once. To further enhance the effectiveness of the grab rail, apply a thin layer of FU WAX that is appropriate for the water temperature. It improves grip, so be sure to apply it when surfing on big waves. And this is today! Achieved my personal best speed measured by a GPS smartwatch! It is 38.6km. Today I updated my record of 35.6km, which I mentioned at the beginning. So, I want to tell you all that I updated my record from yesterday and today. Both boards are "CONQUEST EL-DIABLO". The record up until yesterday was LOST 5'8" 『CONQUEST EL-DIABLO』 POLYESTER Today's record is PLACEBO 5'8" CONQUEST EL-DIABLO FLEXLITE-CANDY . Today the waves were big and the swell speed was fast, so the record was broken, LOST: I think the speed would have been even faster if it had been "DOS-DIABLO." Today, the size has increased dramatically at LOWERS. I rode LOST's new big wave model , "ROUND UP." Compare the waves to the two-story building of the OAKELY PRO, which was held until yesterday. Final Day Report: OAKLEY LOWERS PRO 2015 It was Saturday and the waves were getting bigger, so the contest venue was packed with spectators.
