DURA-FLEX5 was developed as an original, eco-friendly, long-life technology that only we at PLACEBO factory can manufacture. The core of the new composite surfboard, which supports the amazing long-term strength and semi-permanent sun-resistant finish characteristic of the PLACEBO brand, is a lightweight, high-density EPS foam called AEROBLANK. After machine-cutting and hand-custom-shaping the AERO-BLANK EPS foam at the PLACEBO factory, three layers of 4+4+6oz are applied to the deck surface, and two layers of 4+6oz cloth are carefully hand-glassed with epoxy resin on the bottom surface, and the MAYHEM shape design is finished with a UV-cut matte white paint finish.

Both sides of the board are built with Rhombus Carbon Stringers, inherited from the technology of PLACEBO's top-of-the-line model, FLEXLITE-ULTIMATE6.

The nose tip carbon width is 1mm, and the tail end carbon width is 2.5mm wide at 52.5cm, with a diamond-shaped trim to provide a solid ride. The Rhombus Carbon Stringer has a slightly wider carbon in the nose area to make the flex stiffer, and the flex is minimized to push the nose forward and convert it into speed. The carbon width is narrowed and pointed from the widest position to the tail area, making it softer and more flexible, improving response. The newly developed "DURA-FLEX5" technology allows riders to control the board as they wish while going faster.

The UV-cut matte white paint applied to the entire surface of the deck, bottom, rails, etc. is a long-lasting eco-finish that prevents discoloration from sunburn for a long time. The carbon stringers give it a classy finish, and the black and matte white color design of the body is equipped with the flex performance that is unique to PLACEBO surfboards, which is designed with the utmost importance on the "supple and easy to ride" feeling when riding the waves.
