About "DURA-FLEX5" SURFBOARD COMPOSITES

With durability and impact strength that exceeds its price, it has evolved into even higher performance!

DURA-FLEX5 is an original, eco-friendly, long-life technology that only we at PLACEBO Factory can manufacture. The core of this new composite surfboard, which provides the incredible long-lasting durability and semi-permanent sun-resistant finish that's characteristic of the PLACEBO brand, is lightweight, high-density EPS foam called AEROBLANK. This AEROBLANK EPS foam is machine-cut and hand-custom-shaped at the PLACEBO Factory, then carefully hand-glassed with epoxy resin, three layers of 4+4+6oz cloth for the deck and two layers of 4+6oz cloth for the bottom. The board is then finished with a UV-blocking matte white paint, creating the MAYHEM shape design.

Both sides of the board are equipped with Rhombus Carbon Stringers, inherited from the technology of PLACEBO's top-of-the-line model, FLEXLITE-ULTIMATE6.

The board features a rhombus carbon stringer with a diamond-shaped trim that widens the carbon fiber at the nose tip from 1mm to a maximum width of 2.5mm at 52.5cm, resulting in a tail-end carbon fiber width of 1mm, providing a solid ride. The rhombus carbon stringer uses slightly wider carbon fiber in the nose area to stiffen the flex, minimizing flex and pushing the nose forward, translating into speed. The carbon fiber width tapers from the widest point toward the tail area, providing a softer flex and improving response. The newly developed "DURA-FLEX5" technology allows riders to achieve greater speed and control the board with agility.

The UV-cut matte white paint applied to the entire deck, bottom, rails, etc. is a long-lasting eco-finish that semi-permanently prevents discoloration from the sun. The elegant finish with carbon stringers and the black and matte white body design are equipped with the flex performance unique to PLACEBO surfboards, designed with the utmost importance on riding the waves, making them "supple and easy to ride."
