We rode Gob-chan! Day 2 report from the Amami Oshima Surf Trip Journal.
Nishii rode the PLACEBO "GOBLIN" FLEXLITE-BOOST . It's not a board that's typically ridden in reef breaks, but it was perfectly ridden and durable, so he was able to ride it safely in shallow waters. He was able to take off super fast, even in clean, waist-chest-high offshore waves. We went around checking out the waves in lots of different places. I was surprised to find that there are so many great spots in Amami. There is no other place where you can drive around on both the right and left reef breaks in such a concentrated area.
